Commissions
Whether you know exactly what you want your custom piece of woven art to look like or you barely have a sense of what colors you gravitate towards, the commission process will be fun and as collaborative as you like! I equally love working with customers who want a say at each step of the way and those who give me complete creative license.
The process begins with the basics: the size and general look you’re wanting. Including reference photos of my past work that you enjoy is helpful. We confirm design and budget and from there I send you sketches and colors for approval before I begin weaving. I will keep you as updated as you wish throughout the process!
Below you will see and read snippets of the process for each commission. Some are inspired by real life places, illustrations, other weavings, and even a piece of burnt driftwood. I’ve woven in upcycled items of clothing, ribbon, and old pillowcases. Through color, texture, and design, weavings have the capacity to capture the meaning and beauty of any type of inspiration.
